  • How young could a volunteer be??

    Last weekend I was at Spanish national indoor championship, at Sabadell (30min out of Barcelona). There were over 350 athletes and over 50 volunteers helping with the organization of the event.

    The local organizing committee was the one in charge of selecting the personnel. At Sabadell, they have a big athletics team with a lot of teens involved in the program. Also, the coaches and staff of Sabadell athletic club were the volunteer coordinators at this big event. While talking to them, I listen the reason why so many young people were helping at the track.     Last week, on February 11th the program “LIVE WITHOUT CHEATING” was launched in Madrid High School IES Las Rozas. This program is promoted by AEPSAD - Spanish Agency for the Protection of the Sports Health (formerly Spanish Anti-Doping Agency) in collaboration with other 4 partners: National Athlete Association (AD), the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (INEF) of the Technical University of Madrid, the Spanish Youth Committee (CJ-RFEA) and the private company DKV Insurances.
