    Dear Community members,

    As a new member of European Athletics’ staff in Lausanne, I am pleased to introduce myself to the Young Leaders community. My name is Alexandre Ramolet, I am from France and live in the French town of Evian-les-Bains. I took my first license in an athletics club when I was 9 but had already participated in a few kids races before. During my teen years and up to 22, I mostly ran 800m and 400m. Then I stopped to complete my studies in sport management and start my job career. I am now a recreational runner.

  • II PRONAF race, 16-Dec-2012

    On December 16th (2011), the 1st International Congress PRONAF (PROgrammes on Nutrition and Physical Activity for the treatment of overweight and obesity) was carried out in Spain implemented by the Ministry of Science and Innovation. On December 16th 2012, a year after the Congress, the Physical Education and Sport college of Madrid is organizing a race in order to bring back all those people involved and interested in a fun run around the campus. The first edition of this race had a total of 400 participants. But these guys are ambitious and for this year they targeted 800 participants!!

  • Something is running in Lithuania

    I would like to introduce you to Aidas Ardzijauskas. His name is really complex and difficult to pronounce but he is a straight forward person with good intentions. He is 41, he works as a firefighter and he is a passionate ultra-long distance runner. During his career he has already run over 37,000 km!!!

    Last spring, he ran a total of 1,200 km around Lithuania during 24 days in order to promote the healthy lifestyle of athletics and to raise funds for “SOS Children’s Village”. This initiative had 3 media conferences with national TV, radio and many ...

  • Pre-Cyprus Forum

    The European Youth & Sports Forum 2012 is an initiative promoted by the European Union and the European Youth Foundation which will take place the last week of November in the city of Larnaca, Cyprus. The programme is similar to the European Athletics UNESCO Young Leaders Forum that took place in Helsinki earlier this year, but instead on focusing on athletics, people participating in the EYSF 2012 will discuss the topics of volunteering, physical activity and healthy lifestyles, and youth development in the sport environment.
