  • Volunteer motivation vs. sponsorship activation

    In a recent article published by a sports portal Sportcal, some of the volunteers or ‘Games Makers,’ for this summer’s Olympic Games in London expressed concerns that the volunteer programme sponsored by McDonald’s, the US fast-food giant and a top-tier ‘TOP’ sponsor of the International Olympic Committee, has become ‘corporatised’ or ‘Americanised’ and is not a true representation of the local culture of the host country of the 2012 Games.
