  • Spain triggers Anti-Doping educational programme

    This Community has seen many good practices of national and international projects related to doping. We saw how Slovenian “SLOADO - Young Ambassadors” got funding from UNESCO last April; and also European Athletics initiative “I run clean, I throw clean, I jump clean” had a big impact on three European championships last summer.

    Following Slovenia and European Athletics lead, a third initiative will take place in Spain. Community members from the Spanish Youth Committee have been working closely with the Spanish Agency for the Protection of Sports Health – AEPSAD (formerly Spanish Anti-Doping Agency).   • Leap of faith, a pinch of luck and a spark of hope

    I’m sure that quite a few you readers followed the live transmission from Buenos Aires a couple of weeks ago where the IOC elected its new president. When Dr. Bach’s name was announced he stood up with a faint of a smile on his face and bowed to former president and to the other members of the IOC. At that moment he became the most powerful decision-maker in the world of sports and his behavior was very formal, humble and dignified.

  • The voice from the UKA/Bristis Athletics YAG!

    I’m Lijana, the elected UKA/British Athletics Youth Advisory Group Chairperson.

    I come from a background involving competing, coaching, officiating and spectating within athletics. I am a level 3 Athletics Coach and am working towards event group specific coaching qualifications.

    From my experience with juniors and Athletics 365 I gained an invaluable place on the England Athletics National Coach Development Programme for Youth Development.
